Mr. Chris McCabe started training Tae Kwon Do in Westwood Gym in Leopardstown in 1990 and the following year, he was invited to set up a Tae Kwon Do school in Westwood.
In 2002 he joined forces with two other instructors who have clubs on in Co. Wicklow (Mr. Michael Whelan and Mr. James Whelan) and created East Coast Tae Kwon Do Club.
East Coast Tae Kwon Do is proud to be affiliated with the International Tae Kwon Do Federation under the presidency and administration of Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa.
East Coast Tae Kwon Do is fully licensed by the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. In 2007 we were accredited with out own INO number (INO 50). ITF Eireann, INO 300, is an Independent National Organisation under the International Tae Kwon Do Federation and was established in October 2007. This INO was formed by two of the largest Associations in Ireland: East Coast Tae Kwon Do and Tae Kwon Do Alliance under the guidance of Master R. N. Wheatley (President).
